WINTER HAVEN ― In the first year that the FHSAA officially sanctioned beach volleyball, the Winter Haven Blue Devils are still standing. The Blue Devils on Wednesday at Polk State bested Satellite High School 3-2 in the Class 1A, Region 4 second round of the play-in. Winter Haven will now face an opponent yet to be determined in the state championship tournament next Friday and Saturday at Florida State University. "Big win today," Winter Haven head coach Dylan Sechrest said. "We've been talking all year about winning and losing as a team.
